Marina
was born in Sant Vicenç de Castellet (Barcelona) and studied at
Barcelona’s Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música. She furthered
her studies at international courses in both Spain and France and was
prize-winner at several piano and chamber music awards.
Her
professional activity ranges from chamber music and solo piano
performances to collaborations with orchestras, recordings, publications,
musical research and small-format music-based theatre performances.
As
a pianist, she has released three CDs and has collaborated as invited
soloist on other albums. She has also directed postproduction for several
other recordings. She
has performed on numerous occasions for Radio Nacional de España,
Catalunya Ràdio, Catalunya Música, TV3, Canal 33, TV1, TV2 and Südwest
Rundfunk etc. She
published the piano book Pianòries
1 for Dinsic, Barcelona in 2002 and is, at present, preparing the
second volume of the collection.
Her
poems have been set to music and performed in concert, and in 2003 her
cantata Castell Còsmic (Cosmic Castle), scored by Joan Josep Gutiérrez,
was premiered at Sant Cugat’s Teatre-Auditori Noteworthy are her
performances with José de Udaeta and Belén Cabanes at the Würth Museum,
the Ludwigsburg Festival, the Aalto Opera (Essen), the Berlin Opera,
Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Staatstheater Opera (Stuttgart), Teatre
Nacional de Catalunya, Expo 2000 (Hannover), Teatro Libero (Palermo),
Sociedad Filarmónica (Bilbao), Palau de la Música (València), Floriade
2002 (Holland), Festival de la Porta Ferrada (Sant Feliu de Guíxols),
Festival Isaac Albéniz 2002 (Camprodon) and Festival de Flamenco de Jerez
2004. At the Jerez festival the company was awarded the prestigious
Critics’ Award. As soloist and in duo, she
has performed at venues such as the Sitges International Theatre Festival
(Barcelona), the Palau de la Música (Barcelona), the Caja de Madrid,
Festival de Música del segle XX at the Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona),
Ateneu Barcelonès (Barcelona), Festival Grec (Barcelona), Fundación Juan
March (Madrid), Festival Chopin (Valldemossa), Festival Internacional de Música
Contemporánea (Bogotá) etc. She
has collaborated with several orchestras such as the Filharmonia de Cambra
de Barcelona, the Orquestra del Teatre Lliure, the Simfonietta Porta
Ferrada and the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya
at both the Gran Teatre del Liceu and L’Auditori (Barcelona).
