Anna
studied with Radu Aldulescu and Lluís Claret at the Centre d’Estudis
Musicals de Barcelona and has also received tutorship from Enric Casals,
Maria de Macedo (Madrid) Bernard Greenhouse (Barcelona, Boston, Prades)
and Sergiu Celibidache (Mainz, Stuttgart, Madrid). In
duo with acclaimed pianist and composer Albert Guinovart, she won first
prize at the City of Manresa Chamber Music competition and the Catalan
Association of Composers’ special award in 1982. She
was selected to form part of the Invitació
a la Música programme (Live Music Now) founded in the UK by Yehudi
Menuhin, whose objective is to take music to non-typical venues such as
prisons, homes for the elderly, psychiatric wards and military training
academies. She has performed on over a hundred occasions with the Live
Music Now organisation and has recorded for Catalan channel TV3 and
Spanish national TV2 with guitarist Joan Garrobé. She
was a member of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès from 1991 to 1997 as
solo assistant. In
1980 she became a founding member of the Escola de Música de Barcelona
and was assistant cello teacher under director Lluís Claret. At present,
she teaches at the Escola Municipal de Música in Ametlla del Vallès,
Barcelona. Since
1997 she has directed the music school within the framework of the Fundació
Collserola (Frederic Mistral, Tècnic Eulàlia, Avenç and Ramon Fuster)
where she also teaches cello. She
regularly collaborates with the Orquestra Nacional de Cambra d’Andorra (ONCA),
Andorra’s National Chamber Orchestra. She
has performed at festivals throughout Catalonia and is a member of the
Quartet Guinjoan in collaboration with Lluís Claret. She
regularly performs with pianist and composer Antoni-Olaf Sabater.
